Theme The seeds of integrity are planted in childhood—but they must be nurtured intentionally.

Scripture Focus

  • Proverbs 11:3 (NIV)“The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.”

  • Romans 8:6–8 (NIV)“The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.”

Reflection Prompts

Consider these questions thoughtfully:

  • What early lessons—spoken or unspoken—shaped your understanding of honesty?

  • When you reflect on your childhood, how was integrity modeled for you?

  • How does recognizing our carnal nature help us extend grace to ourselves and others?

  • Why is it important to confront dishonesty early rather than excuse it?

  • How can you intentionally model integrity for the next generation?

Journal Prompt

Think back to a moment in your childhood when you chose convenience over truth—or truth over convenience. What did that moment teach you about consequences, accountability, or grace? How does that lesson still influence your decisions today?

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for meeting me where I am and for shaping my heart over time. Help me to recognize the lessons I learned early - both good and flawed - and to submit them to You for healing and correction. Teach me to walk uprightly, guided by integrity and truth.

Amen.

Next Steps

  • Further Study: Read Proverbs 20:7 and Psalm 51:6.

  • Action: Identify one behavior you learned early that needs refinement today.

  • Accountability: Share one childhood lesson about honesty with a trusted mentor or loved one.

  • Practice: Pause before small decisions this week and ask, “Does this align with integrity?”
