Theme Integrity is revealed in private long before it’s tested in public.

Scripture Focus

  • Hebrews 4:13 (NIV)“Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight.”

  • Luke 16:10 (NIV)“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.”

Reflection Prompts

  • How do you define integrity when no one else is present?

  • What small ethical compromises are easiest to justify?

  • Why do “harmless” shortcuts often lead to greater ethical struggles?

  • How does God’s omniscience challenge our private behavior?

  • What does faithfulness in small things look like for you right now?

Journal Prompt

Describe a recent situation where you had an opportunity to cut corners or omit the truth. What did you decide to do - and why? How did that decision affect your peace afterward?

Prayer

Lord,

Search my heart and expose anything that does not honor You. Strengthen me to choose righteousness even when it costs me comfort or convenience. I want my private life to reflect the same integrity as my public one.

Amen.

Next Steps

  • Further Study: Read Psalm 139:23–24.

  • Action: Return or correct something this week—time, money, words, or credit.

  • Accountability: Ask someone to pray with you about ethical consistency.

  • Practice: Make honesty your default response, even when it’s uncomfortable.
